Depositing Made Easy: Step-by-Step Guide to Mobile Check Deposit on Chime Checking Account

Looking to deposit a check on your Chime checking account? Good news, the process is made easy with Chime’s mobile app. In this step-by-step guide, we’ll walk you through the simple process of mobile check depositing. Let’s start with which bank name to use for your account…

Chime Bank Name: What Bank Does Chime Use?

Stride Bank, or The Bancorp Bank?  Those are the two financial institution names you will need to know for sending money to your Chime account.  But first let me explain.

What Is The Name Of Chime Bank?  Chime may be marketed as a “bank”, but it is actually not a traditional bank in the traditional sense.  Chime instead is a financial technology (FinTech) company, and uses banking partners to create affordable banking.  With these partnerships, Chime offers a variety of banking products such as checking accounts and high yield savings accounts, as well as a credit builder secured Visa credit card.

So, is Chime a real bank? Is Chime a bank, and if not, then who is Chime?

Again, Chime is not a bank but instead a consumer software company with a technology platform that partners with and relies on 2 partner banks – Stride Bank and Bancorp bank.  A reputable company that is headquartered in San Francisco, California and operates primarily through its website and mobile app.

Your Chime account is specifically tied to one of these two banks. These partnerships can often cause confusion for Chime account holders, so you are not alone.

Chime partners with two banks – Stride Bank and Bancorp Bank – to provide financial services to its customers. Though there are two different partnerships – the features, benefits, and member experience between the two banks are identical.

These banking institutions just provide the financial infrastructure that allows Chime to offer checking and savings accounts, Chime cards, and other financial products and services to its customers.

In addition, Chime is able to allow people to receive their paycheck by direct deposit up to TWO DAYS EARLY!!  This is a tremendous benefit and a primary reason many people will want to direct deposit their paychecks into their Chime account.

If you have a Chime account, you may be wondering which name to use when setting up direct deposit for your paycheck. To do so, you will need to provide your employer the Chime bank name and address associated with your account.

Chime Bank Name And Address

DO NOT USE CHIME AS YOUR BANK NAME!!!

Chime is not a bank, remember?  You do not list Chime as your bank name when asked to provide direct deposit information.  Instead, you need to find out which of the two partner banks that your Chime account is associated with.

The Bancorp Bank and Chime Partnership

Bancorp Bank and Chime Bank have partnered to provide a new banking experience for customers.  Bancorp is a FDIC-insured bank institution and is one of the two banks that provide the banking services for Chime accounts.

  • Bancorp Bank is a national firm that offers a full range of banking services.
  • Bancorp Bank has a long history of providing excellent customer service and has a strong reputation in the banking industry.
  • Chime Bank is a relatively new bank, but has quickly become a favorite among customers for its simple and convenient banking experience.

Stride Bank Partnership With Chime

In 2019, Stride Bank and Chime Bank announced a partnership that would allow Chime Bank customers to open Stride accounts and access Stride Bank’s ATM network. The partnership between the two banks was designed to provide Chime customers with more access to cash and banking services.

Under the partnership, Chime customers could open a Stride Bank account and use their Chime debit card to withdraw cash from Stride Bank ATMs. Chime customers could also use their Stride Bank account to send money and make interbank transfers.

The Stride Bank Chime Address is:

Stride Bank N.A.

Enid, OK 73701

Depending on which financial institution Chime is using for your account, you would use the appropriate Chime bank name and address for direct deposit above.

Note: The bank address may be required by your employer or other payer when setting up direct deposit.

What is The Chime Bank Routing Number?

Once you know which Chime Bank address to use, you then need to determine which routing number for Chime to send your money or wire transfer to.  And there is a reason I went through the address section first.

We already know that Chime is partnered with Stride Bank, N.A. and The Bancorp Bank, and each client’s account is assigned to one of these two banks.  To confirm which routing number to use for your Chime account, you will need to know which partner institution your account is assigned to.  Which we already determined in the previous section.

What is a Routing Number & Why Do I Need It?

A routing number is a nine-digit code used by financial institutions in the United States to identify themselves. It is also known as an ABA routing number or ABA-RNT. Routing numbers are used to ensure that funds are transferred correctly.

You may need your Chime routing number for various non-debit card transactions, such as transferring money between banks, setting up direct deposit for tax refund deposits or other forms of direct deposit.

It’s important to double-check all your personal and banking details, as well as the recipient’s information, when making a wire transfer. Wire transfers are generally irreversible, so it’s crucial to ensure that all the information is correct.

If you are planning on making a wire transfer, it’s a good idea to contact your bank directly to gather all the necessary information and familiarize yourself with the steps involved.

DOES CHIME WORK WITH CASH APP

Should I Use Chime for Direct Deposit?

Chime is a popular choice for direct deposit among consumers, and it has a relatively high rating on Consumer Affairs. However, some users have reported issues with customer service department.

Chime offers several benefits for its customers, including no monthly fees, fee-free overdrafts, early access to paychecks, and other features that make its checking accounts attractive. Chime accounts are FDIC-insured up to $250,000 through

The Bancorp Bank and Stride Bank, and the company has robust security measures in place to protect its customers’ funds, including encryption and the ability to disable active cards.

If you’re looking for a digital bank account that provides early access to direct deposits and has affordable checking and savings options, Chime may be a good choice for you. However, if you prefer to work with a financial professional, you may want to consider a financial institution with more dedicated customer service.

CONCLUSION

Overall, Chime’s check deposit limits and transfer limits are reasonable for most people’s needs. With a daily deposit limit of up to $2,000 and monthly deposit limit of up to $10,000,

Chime can be a great solution for people who frequently deposit checks.

Additionally, Chime’s transfer limits are also generous, with no daily deposit limit for transfers to other Chime members, and up to $2,000 per day for normal bank transfers.
